Walk a mile in my shoes: City tours of different perspectives in Larnaka
On Saturday, the 22nd of October 2022, the NGO C.I.P. Citizens in Power in cooperation with Phivos Stavridis Foundation, the Foundation of Cultural Creativity for Children and Youth and Discover Larnaka invite you to take part in a round of city tours in the city’s historical center. The first walk will take place at 10:30 a.m. and the second one at 15:30 p.m. The walks will start at Europe Square, they will cross over Leoforos Athenon, followed by a stroll on Zinonos Kitieos Street and the area around Saint Lazarus Church. The walks are scheduled to last between 1,5 to 2 hours.
The morning session seeks to involve the local residents of Larnaka, aiming to spread awareness about the contribution of foreigners to Larnaka’s history and urban development from the 18th century onwards.
The afternoon session will involve the migrant residents of Larnaka, aiming to contribute to the historical awareness of the city and serve as a way of showing that no one should be considered as a foreigner in it.
This initiative aims to show that in the town of Larnaka all residents are equal, there are no foreigners, but only citizens. The city tours will be implemented as part of the AMIF Project, “DREAMM” and they are under the auspices of the Municipality of Larnaka.
